The Seventeenth Annual Corinth Civil War Heritage Day and Confederate Memorial Day.
!!!!! SAT EVENTS MOVED TO MAY 1ST !!!!! The Confederate Memorial Day services will go on as scheduled for Sunday the 25th at 2:00 at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center.
The Col. W. P. Rogers Camp #321 Sons of Confederate Veterans in Historic Corinth,Mississippi is again organizing a two-day event April 24-25, 2010 to commemorate Confederate Memorial Day and the sacrifices made by our ancestors. We would like for you and your fellow compatriots to join with us in these weekend activities. You will get to camp on the grounds of the Historic Verandah-Curlee House in historic downtown Corinth,Mississippi. There will be an opportunity to skirmish on some of the same land where the actual fighting took place in October 1862. You will get to experience this fighting in the same place it took place in the Battle of Corinth. We will furnish firewood, water, and supper Saturday evening. For the public there will be period music, a large display of Confederate flags, vendors selling Civil War items, and a large Civil War relic display.
Out manned, out-gunned, and out-supplied but never out-fought Confederate soldiers wrote a proud chapter in this nation’s history for independence, toughness, bravery, patriotism, and Heritage of Honor. This is a wonderful opportunity to dedicate a weekend to keeping the spirit of 1861-1865 alive while paying respect to the deeds of those Southern heroes who heeded the call to arms. We need for you to help us honor and pay respect to all the Confederate soldiers who fought and died for the cause that they believed in. A Memorial service at historic Battery Robinette on Sunday honoring our Confederate ancestors will highlight the weekend. We need for you and your reenactment group to help us with this event. All activities are free to all attendees and participants.READ MORE
